Sometimes I

Sometimes I find the sky is turning me blue
& sometimes you find time too, time to
Sometimes I remind you too much
& if all the world could be poured into a glass
We could drown our sorrows
Or at least attempt to
The roll of a dice won’t help it pass
But it’s true
Sometimes I find the sky is turning me blue

The horse and the plough
The race and the clouds
I can’t explain it any clearer
You’re no nearer than before
What truth will you recall

Sometimes you find time too, time to, sometimes to
Sometimes I remind you too much
Sometimes you
I’ll see you and raise you
Sometimes I find the sky is turning me blue

He’s not just any man

He came courting and on bended knee
About some dancing he would like with me
But I don’t give my heart to just any man
And put his daisies out in the trash can

He went a way and bought a silver car
One with wide seats and said we wouldn’t go too far
As if to impress me I could be his girl
I don’t need a flash car and some social whirl

He came courting and on bended knee
About some wedding he would like with me
But I don’t give my heart to just any man
And put his daisies out in the trash can

Well, he went away and built a house with trees
Cooled by an ocean’s gentle breeze
Planted jacaranda and hibiscus fair
With a pool for little fishes to paddle there

Now our grandchildren play in the sea
I’m old and wrinkly and so is he
He asks me why I put his daisies out in the trash can
I say I didn’t give my heart to just any man

(spoken word and trumpet, flugelhorn, tuba, drums)
1,2, 1,2, 1,2,3,4 whoa! calypso!

(Repeat two verse, music only, sing last line)
He's not just any man

At full tilt

(This is from the first time round with One More Windmill...)

Tilting into view
A galactic comet flew
Eyes spitting fire and flame
Burning into mine again
Meteoric rise
Across the skies
But the journey’s the same

One more windmill
And then it’ll be done
But the blades get sharper
And the nights get long
And out on the edge
Near the stars and the moon
Is the sad lilt of singular tune

One more windmill for these tired eyes
But the comet has stolen all of the skies
And out on the edge
Near the stars and the moon
Is the sad lilt of singular tune

Kind of Soul

I’ll see you when the light has faded
And you’re only left in blue
When your dreams are old and jaded
And here’s what I’ll do

I won’t laugh like you did
I’m not that kind of soul
I won’t judge you lacking honey
Even though you’ll have grown so cold
I’ll just smile like I always do
And wish you a pleasant day
And then I’ll be on my way

You can’t haunt my dreams forever
No matter how hard you try
I think you’ll be the one left lonely
Learning what it’s like to cry

I’ll see you when the light has faded
Maybe we’ll sit and pass some time
But when your dreams are old and jaded
Well, I’ll still be dreaming mine

Rumple, One More Windmill...back round again...

OK, so after some time away...I know, I know about ten months since I picked this up.. I was listening to Rock Star Supernova and the Foo Fighters while tackling the post-summer break housework mountain and thought, I really miss Rumple.
So here I am, new internet home, same old line-up (me that is).
I shall put up the back-catalogue and have a real buzz about reworking One More Windmill, which to be quite honest was severely lacking the last time round. So grab your air-guitars and get ready to rock!
